Quick hits

If you are waiting for anything live from the Eagles game, forget about it. I don't think they showed up.

USC red-shirt senior quarterback Matt Leinart came back for his last year of football eligibity even though he is done with undergraduate work. He still has to attend at least one class, so he chose ballroom dancing. Not only is he a stud to all of the co-eds, now he'll be attractive to the "mature" set. May I cut in?

Orioles first baseman Rafael Palmeiro has decided to wear earplugs so as not to hear the boos from the fans. Maybe he should have tried them when he was hearing the voices in his head telling him to take steroids.

A David Wells apology does not carry much weight. He does, but his words do not.

Former Eagle Corey Simon didn't waste any time finding another team that loses in really big games.

The Phillies took care of business against the Mets, taking two of three. Next up: Houston.

How come Koy Detmer looks so bad every time he plays quarterback?

Temple getting 31 points against Arizona State. Take the Sun Devils and run.
Temple's schedule is tough ... if you're Temple.

The San Antonio Spurs add Michael Finley and Nick Van Exel. The rich just got richer. That is a deep bench. Where is Billy King? Oh yeah, something about a honeymoon.

Dodgers outfielder Milton Bradley is a bad man. Enough said.

Forbes magazine says the Eagles franchise is worth $952 million, fourth behind the Redskins, Cowboys and Patriots. That's not going to go over to well with T.O.

Definition of cruel and usual punishment: Coaches that call timeouts in preseason games.
