Think Lord Stanley

Are you excited about the news coming from the NHL and the Flyers this week? Have they done enough to get you back in the game after sitting out the season?

As sports editor of The Inquirer, I am looking forward to getting back on the ice. What the Flyers did last week was the stuff fantasy leagues are made of. General manager Bob Clarke, whether you like him or not, went out to change the face of his team for what is expected to be a new game. He got it done in 72 hours.

Is it good enough? The oddsmakers think so. Here is sampling of odds from the Internet:

Vegas.com: 4-1 (favorite)

BettingExpress.com: 4-1 (No. 2, Boston Bruins favorite at 2-1).

America's Line: 10-1 (No. 5, Detroit Red Wings favorite at 6-1).

BetRoyal.com: +300 (favorite)

2ksportsbet.com: +450 (favorite)

That doesn't mean go out and bet the house. It just means the Flyers are very highly regarded by the bookies for the season ahead.
