Owens and Tra Thomas to play

Eagles coach Andy Reid said this morning that WR Terrell Owens and OL Tra Thomas will play on Friday night against the Bengals.

In his Thursday morning news conference, Reid said the starting unit would "go for a half and possibly the beginning of the second half."

Thomas, who has been sidelined much of the preseason with blood clots in his leg, will be back at left tackle.

"Tra is in great cardio shape, Reid said. "I think that helped him get through the week of practice. He did well. ... Obviously we are keeping a close eye on [blood clots], but it’s not a concern.”

When asked about Owens' groin injury, Reid was optimistic that there were no issues.

"I think he feels pretty good," he said. "... He hasn’t had a lot of pain in there. He will get a nice stretch before he gets out there and plays tomorrow and he should be fine."

Rookie receiver Reggie Brown will be third receiver against the Bengals, behind Owens and Greg Lewis, the coach said.
